Electrical Repair
Live somewhere the grid doesn’t quite reach? Or just done with rising power bills and blackouts? VK Electricals designs and installs off-grid power systems for homes, sheds, and rural properties right across Victoria. Solar panels, battery banks, backup generators we size it all to what your property actually needs, not a template pulled from a brochure. Our CEC-accredited electricians handle the full job, from system design through to compliance sign-off.
Off-grid systems we install include:
Standalone Solar & Battery Systems
Whether you’re building fresh or moving an existing property off-grid, our team handles the full setup panels, inverter, battery bank, and backup generator integration where needed. Everything’s installed to Australian Standards and signed off before we leave the site.
Is Off-Grid Right for Your Property?
Not sure if going off-grid makes sense for your property? It’s a bigger decision than a standard solar install, and it’s not right for everyone. Here’s what usually brings Victorian property owners to us:
Off-Grid System Cost & Planning in Victoria
Off-grid systems cost more upfront than grid-connected solar mainly because they need to cover 100% of your power, not just top it up. Here’s what shapes the price.
Daily energy use, battery bank size, panel capacity, and whether you need a backup generator all factor in. Remote sites with tricky access can also add to install costs.
Our electricians assess your site and energy needs before quoting itemised pricing for panels, batteries, inverter, and generator integration. No guesswork, no hidden extras.
We don't just install, we design. That means running the numbers on your actual usage so you're not stuck with a system that's undersized in winter or oversized and overpriced.
Off-grid systems need occasional servicing to stay reliable. We offer follow-up checks and maintenance so your system keeps performing, season after season.
⚡ SAFETY IS BUILT INTO EVERY INSTALL
Every off-grid system we install meets Australian Standards and gets signed off by a licensed electrician covered for warranty, insurance, and compliance. Got questions about your property? Give us a call.
FAQs
How much battery storage do I actually need off-grid?
Depends on your daily usage and how many days of backup you want in poor weather. We work this out during the site assessment; there’s no one-size-fits-all number.
Do off-grid systems still need a generator?
Most do, at least as a backup. Even a well-sized battery bank can run low during a stretch of cloudy days, so a generator gives you a safety net.
Can an existing on-grid property switch to off-grid?
Yes, though it usually means upgrading the system size and battery capacity to cover everything the grid used to handle. We can assess what that involves for your place.
How often does an off-grid system need servicing?
We’d suggest an annual check at minimum batteries, connections, and generators (if fitted) all benefit from a proper look before things drift out of spec.
